My name is Otilia, and I’m delighted by your interest in OtiliART! As a Brazilian/German PhD biologist, jewelry maker, and artist, I found my calling in the fusion of natural sciences and art. The starting point and limitless source of my work are all living things, their components, and their relationships to one another.

My Brazilian roots and scientific training strongly influence my creative process. From my homeland, I brought a passion for bold colors, shapes, and contrasts. My paintings, mini-sculptures, and jewelry are a homage to biology. I am fascinated by the shapes, colors, and textures we find everywhere in nature. My work invites the viewer to look at life with fresh eyes, from microscopic structures to ecosystems.

In my works, I use a variety of materials, including acrylic, modeling clay, wood, ceramics, fabrics, strings, metals, and various papers. This allows me to explore different textures and create works that are particularly authentic. My art aims to spark your interest in biological complexities.

OtiliART paintings and mini-sculptures have been presented at medical conferences, web and art exhibitions.
